Staff Accountant and HR Assistant

The Staff Accountant and HR Assistant will work directly with the Mobomo’s Controller to handle all task related to accounting and HR/compliance administration for the company. The position requires someone with a strong understanding of both accounting principles and HR practices. The right candidate will learn all aspects of both the accounting department and the human resource/compliance department. The right candidate must be flexible, able to work independently, and a self-starter.

Role:

  • Work with the controller to manage and maintain all accounting tasks
  • Help update accounting tasks and procedures depending on industry changes .
  • Assist in all human resource functions and on-going compliance documentation updates
  • Understand company HR policies and procedures. Update annually as policies change
  •  Maintain benefits administration and assist with performance review assessment development

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Functions:

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable invoice
  •  Maintain general ledger
  •  Reconcile bank accounts
  • Prepare journal entries and financial reports
  • Payroll processing
  • Coding and categorizing expenses
  • Data entry and reconciliation of financial transactions.
  • Assist in month-end close; quarterly financials reporting and annual audit.

HR/Compliance Assistant Functions:

  • Supporting the recruitment process; processing offer letters, employment agreements, background screenings and E-Verify cases.
  • Processing clearance paperwork.
  • Onboarding new employees, including paperwork and training; offboarding.
  • Assist with annual performance review distribution and follow-up.
  • Maintain training records and certifications.
  • Processing employee changes and updates to benefits
  • Answering employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with time tracking and timesheet submission.
  • Maintaining compliance documents

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration or equivalent experience
  • Basic understanding of HR principles and practices
  • Proficiency with accounting software – knowledge of Unanet helpful
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, particularly Excel
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and departments
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
