Key Responsibilities:
- Front-End Development:
- Write clean, efficient HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (experience with the Vue framework preferred).
- Implement and customize front-end frameworks for optimal performance.
- Apply best practices in responsive and mobile-first web design.
- Design & Accessibility:
- Apply user-centered design methods, including usability testing, interaction design, and accessibility standards.
- Ensure compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Plain Language Writing Act of 2010.
- Design and prototype solutions using wireframing tools.
- Product Development & Research:
- Plan and facilitate product meetings, workshops, user research, and usability tests.
- Analyze user needs and recommend technical solutions to meet business objectives.
- Summarize findings from research and usability tests to recommend improvements.
- Documentation & Communication:
- Prepare and maintain requirements analysis and design documents.
- Present solutions and findings to stakeholders, obtaining buy-in and feedback.
- Write for the web using plain language and technical writing best practices.
- Collaboration & Agile Practices:
- Work collaboratively with teams to define project scope, processes, and technical solutions.
- Prioritize tasks effectively in alignment with Agile methodology and incremental development practices.
- Foster productive relationships with House and Senate staff.
- Strong understanding of information architecture and interaction design principles.
- Familiarity with Senate rules and regulations (or willingness to learn).
- Proficiency in responsive design and modern web development techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and ensure project success.
- Must be on EST or CST
- Must be able to obtain a US Government clearance
