The International Trade Administration (ITA) needed to modernize its  digital infrastructure to better serve its global mission. Spanning over 30 websites and microsites, ITA’s legacy systems were siloed, costly to maintain, and lacked the resilience, scalability, and compliance  posture demanded by modern federal IT environments.  Mobomo led a full-scale infrastructure transformation, migrating ITA to a secure, cloud-native, containerized architecture while automating operations, improving security, and reducing long-term  costs.

the solution

Scalable, secure, resilient.

Mobomo re-architected ITA’s infrastructure using AWS and Azure GovCloud, deploying Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) via Terraform and Ansible and containerizing services through Kubernetes. Legacy ColdFusion environments were migrated to cloud-native platforms, reducing reliance on outdated technologies. To support scalability and governance, Mobomo automated CI/CD pipelines (AWS Code Pipeline, Jenkins), implemented Zero Trust security controls, and fully integrated Active Directory, Azure MFA, and AWS IAM for identity management.  Mobomo also modernized IT service delivery by integrating AI-powered workflows into ServiceNow, reducing manual workload and accelerating incident response across ITA’s enterprise. 

Cloud migration and infrastructure modernization

Mobomo led the migration of over 220 systems and applications from legacy environments to a cloud-native infrastructure hosted across AWS and Azure GovCloud.

IT service management & request resolution

To streamline service delivery and reduce response times, Mobomo implemented AI-driven automation within ITA’s ServiceNow ITSM platform.

Cybersecurity & compliance enhancements

Mobomo adopted a security-first architecture built on Zero Trust Principles. Azure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) was enforced across 3,000+ users, and automated patching workflows were implemented to eliminate security backlogs.

PockitShip partnered with Mobomo in 2015 to launch their platform on iOS and Android applications. Mobomo worked with the CDC on the redesign of the Effective Interventions website. The current site had been added to, changed, and updated by multiple entities over the years. The goal for this engagement was to create a clear and clean new flow for the user experience, and to ensure all design elements were consistent across all pages of the site

The Every Dose Every Day (E2D2) app is a user friendly, free app created by the CDC for people living with HIV. The purpose of the app is to provide hourly/daily/weekly reminders as necessary for taking medications, keeping track of appointments, storing lab results, and refill prescriptions for the user. The E2D2 app is secure and confidential, only storing the data in the user’s phone for their reference.
